About Mount Zion Kennels

My name is Camille, I'm a professional dog groomer, and I’ve been breeding standard poodles since 2021. I live in the beautiful Willamette Valley of Oregon, and compete in various AKC and UKC dog events all over the Pacific Northwest.

My standard poodles come in every poodle color, and usually tend to be smaller than average in size. Some people may refer to them as “Moyen” or “Medium” sized, however mine are truly just small standards, usually ranging from 30-45lbs (for more information on “Moyen” sized poodles, please visit my page on that here).

I currently only have 1-2 litters per year, each one is carefully planned with the goal of improving each generation from their parents. Health, temperament, and conformation all go into consideration when selecting my breeding pairs.
My Goal

My goal in breeding is to preserve & improve this historic breed and its multicolored lines. I will be focusing on improving conformation and health, and maintaining versatility. I want my dogs to excel not only in the show ring, but also in performance and companion sports, as well as in the field.

I will not be breeding doodles or “designer dogs,” please read my page on this for more information.

Why Poodles?

"Poodles are Labs with a college education. My Poodle will do anything your Labrador will do. After a day of retrieving in the field, your Lab wants to curl up and snore in front of the fire. My Poodle wants to be a fourth at bridge and tell naughty stories." Anne Rogers Clark, the famous handler, all breed judge and Poodle breeder.

Zion was my very first poodle, and he is the best family dog we could ever hope for. He’s the reason I fell in love with the breed. They are very intelligent, athletic, extremely versatile, great with kids and so much more! Poodles have amazing temperaments and personalities, and I highly recommend the breed for most people, my poodles especially get along with children! They are socialized from a very young age, and learn to interact with children of all ages!
About The Breed

The poodle is one breed of dog that comes in three recognized sizes;
Standard (16" and over), Miniature (10" to 15"), and Toy (under 10").
Developed as a water dog, it is believed that the poodle originated in Germany more than four centuries ago, and the name was derived from the Low German word "Pudel," meaning "to splash."
The Standard Poodle is known for its high level of intelligence, trainability, and non-shedding coat. They are a very loving and affectionate breed that do very well with children. Poodles are also very athletic and versatile, they excel at many dog sports such as agility and obedience, as well as assistance and therapy dog work.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

John 3:16-18
